CCA Calls for Collaboration of Purifying Tourism Market Oct. 8, 2015, China Consumers Association
—— 2016-03-14 ——

In view of the media’s disclosure of the fraudulence and infringement upon consumers’ rights and interests on Qingdao tourist market, the spokesman of CCA said today that The Tourism Law of China has been enforced for two years, but the tourist market still needs concerted efforts and shared governance of all parties for its purification.

CCA expects relevant government departments to take a zero tolerance attitude towards illegal operators and impose serious punishment on them in accordance with the law. Tourist market supervisors of all areas need to put in place a long-term and linkage mechanism for safeguarding tourists’ rights and interests, smooth the consumer complaint and handling channel, establish a blacklist system for illegal operators on the tourist market, and create a worry-free environment for tourist consumers.

Both The Law on Protection of Consumer Rights and Interests and The Tourism Law have explicit descriptions on consumers’ rights and interests and business operators’ obligations. According to these descriptions, operators on the tourist market must strictly fulfill their statutory obligations and protect consumers’ right to know, right of choice, right of fair trade and all other legitimate rights and interests. They should build a good tourist consumption environment through integrity and lawful operations and thus make consumers desire and dare to consume without worries.

At the same time, CCA also reminds consumers of sticking to autonomous consumption and rights protection according to the law, and claim their rights and interests and seek help from relevant government departments, consumer associations and news media when their legitimate rights and interests are infringed upon.
